Our philosophy behind our spirits is simple: we make what we want to drink. We make young, high proof whiskies to elevate the taste of the finest organic, locally grown Michigan grains. We make experimental gins using the botanicals sourced just two blocks from our front door. Sometimes we even grow our own wheat for whiskey or pine for gin. This is what happens when farm boys turn city slickers and open a distillery in America’s oldest, largest public farmers market.
A TIMELESS SPIRIT FROM A STORIED PAST
My grandfather lost his finger making a whiskey barrel. He traded his motorcycle to bootleggers for a rifle. And after World War II, he began his career as a butcher in Detroit’s Eastern Market next to the slaughterhouse that I transformed into our distillery. To honor his life and legacy, I created Butcher’s Cut Bourbon using the finest cuts of corn, rye and roasted barley . The result is a bourbon that is timeless and true with exceptional character, just like the man that inspired it. – Master Distiller John P. Jerome
THE LEGACY OF FARM TO BOTTLE
We made this one just like they used to - on a small copper pot still in the back of an old slaughterhouse in Detroit’s Eastern Market. The finest cuts of Eaton County rye produced a spicy, buttery whiskey that could only come from a place where butchers were bootleggers and farmers are family.
From grain to glass, this whiskey celebrates the legacy of the farmers that make our spirits possible.
we were meant to do this. it's in our blood
When making a spirit for the revolutionaries rewriting the history of a great American city, it is important to honor your past. The legends of prohibition and the legacy of industry inspire a whiskey that is unabashedly original.
Produced in small batches using Michigan barley, winter wheat
and specialty malts, this is the next generation of whiskey made the old fashioned way.
A DRINK OF DISTINCTION FROM
THE PARIS OF THE WEST.
From the place that exemplified ingenuity and elegance in the age of industry and excess comes a drink made to inspire city and spirit. Produced in Detroit’s famed Eastern Market, we use a sophisticated blend of the finest grains and classical copper pot distillation techniques to create a vodka so rich you can taste the history.
FOR THOSE WHO DETERMINE THEIR OWN DESTINATION.
Few things are finer in life than a classic dry gin served in a dimly lit railcar. Our London-style gin meets at the crossroads of alchemy and botany with the finest juniper, cardamom, citrus and spice. From the Grand Trunk to the Transcontinental, creating the consummate gin is a journey.
May your journey be destined for distinction..
OUR NATIVE SPIRIT.
Inspired by the legend of the "tree of peace." this spirit pays homage to our origins. White pine and blue spruce planted by our founder over 20 years ago were harvested to create a gin that embodies the taste of the Great Lakes state. From the bounty of nature to the freshest water in the world, gin isn't just our way of life, it's our state of mind.
